Forest Forward is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that partners with the community to drive equitable development, economic mobility, and improve outcomes for children, residents, and families of the South Dallas community.
Launched in 2019, Forest Forward focuses its efforts on accelerating the advancement and achievements of Black and marginalized people by developing a sustainable road map towards economic growth and progress in South Dallas. Forest Forward’s mission is to drive equitable development, economic mobility and improved outcomes for children, residents, and families of the 75215 community through the restoration of the historic Forest Theater.
- Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Graphic and Content Coordinator is responsible for managing and producing visual content that aligns with the Forest Forward’s brand guidelines and marketing goals. This role involves both graphic design and content coordination, ensuring that all materials are high-quality, on-brand, and delivered on time. This position will collaborate with internal teams and partners to create marketing plans that align with the organization’s mission and goals
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies:
- Implement digital and traditional marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraising efforts, and services
- Ensure all visual and written content aligns with the company’s brand identity, voice, and style guidelines
Graphic Design, Content Creation and Management:
- Create visually appealing designs for digital and print media, including social media posts, website graphics, promotional materials, email templates, presentations, and other marketing assets
- Coordinate the creation, scheduling, and delivery of content across various platforms, ensuring consistency and quality in all materials
- Maintain an organized content calendar to track upcoming content needs, deadlines, and project milestones
- Oversee content and design projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and the final deliverables are aligned with expectations
- Write, design, and edit engaging content for social media, newsletters, websites, and promotional materials
- Maintain the organization’s website and social media platforms, ensuring they are up-to-date and visually appealing
- Manage and maintain a library of graphic design files, images, and content for easy access by the team
Event Promotion:
- Support the planning, promotion, and execution of events (fundraisers, outreach programs, etc.)
- Design promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and digital assets for events
Donor and Stakeholder Communication:
- Develop communication strategies for reaching potential donors, volunteers, and partners
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors through personalized messaging and storytelling
Analytics and Reporting:
- Track the performance of marketing campaigns and provide reports on effectiveness (social media engagement, email open rates, event attendance, etc.) , suggesting improvements based on feedback and analytics
- Use data insights to refine and improve future marketing strategies
Collaboration and Outreach:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (fundraising, program, etc.) to align marketing initiatives with broader organizational goals
- Foster relationships with media partners, influencers, and community stakeholders
Brand Management:
- Ensure that all marketing efforts reflect the organization’s values, mission, and visual identity
- Maintain consistency in the organization’s branding across all platforms and materials
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Experience in project management or working with content teams on larger campaigns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), content management tools (e.g., WordPress, CMS), and basic knowledge of marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, email marketing platforms).
- Familiarity with SEO and digital marketing platforms and principles.
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, content coordinator, or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating both design and content coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of content creation for various digital and print platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to follow design and brand guidelines accurately.
- Ability to adjust strategies based on campaign metrics and feedback
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners
- Analytical skills to interpret data and assess the performance of marketing campaigns is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of web design or HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of video editing or animation tools is a plus.
- Strong interest in and alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
