Our Starbucks Coffeehouse will be at the heart of that experience, serving as a neighborhood gathering place for theater patrons, artists, students, entrepreneurs, families, community partners, and visitors. With live entertainment, special events, and a distinctive lifestyle brand experience, this will be a Starbucks unlike any other.

We are looking for a Shift Lead who wants to help build something from the ground up and be part of a team creating a new model for what a community coffeehouse can be.

Position Summary

The Starbucks Coffeehouse Manager leads all aspects of coffeehouse operations while ensuring compliance with Starbucks Licensed Store standards and Forest Theater hospitality expectations. This role oversees team development, operations, financial performance, customer experience, community engagement, and event support.

You will have the opportunity to help shape the culture, service standards, and guest experience of a brand-new coffeehouse while working in a dynamic environment that combines coffee, live entertainment, culture, and community.

Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop baristas and shift supervisors. Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, inclusion, and excellence. Lead coaching, scheduling, team meetings, and performance management.

Coffeehouse Operations

Manage daily operations, food safety, inventory, ordering, cleanliness, POS systems, Starbucks Connect readiness, and operational compliance.

Financial Stewardship

Manage labor, inventory, operating expenses, sales performance, waste reduction, and business reporting.

Customer Experience & Community Engagement

Create meaningful guest experiences, support community engagement initiatives, and serve as an ambassador for both Starbucks and Forest Theater.

Event & Programming Support

Support performances, educational programs, donor events, grand opening activities, and special activations through staffing and hospitality coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 3 years of customer service
• Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team coordination experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events

Preferred Qualifications

• Starbucks experience
• Coffeehouse, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience
• Event venue experience
• Community engagement experience
• Cash handling experience
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification
• Experience training, coaching, or developing team members

Compensation & Benefits

Pay is based on market rates and are negotiable based on experience and skills; plus, eligible benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, holidays, parental leave, retirement savings plans, and professional development opportunities.
