As an Event Server, you help create memorable experiences for guests attending performances, private events, community gatherings, and special occasions at Forest Theater. Through exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and professional service, you contribute to a welcoming environment that celebrates culture, community, and connection. 

Position Summary 

The Event Server supports Front of House food and beverage operations by providing outstanding service during performances, private events, receptions, community programs, and special events. This role is responsible for event setup and breakdown, table and buffet presentation, food and beverage service, and maintaining a clean, professional, and guest-focused environment throughout the event experience. 

Working closely with culinary, event, and operations teams, the Event Server helps ensure every guest interaction reflects Forest Theater’s commitment to hospitality, excellence, and community engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Guest Service & Hospitality 

• Deliver exceptional customer service to guests, clients, patrons, and community members. 
• Serve food and beverages professionally, efficiently, and courteously using established service standards. 
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests and concerns. 
• Create a welcoming and positive experience that reflects Forest Theater’s commitment to hospitality and community. 
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times.  

Event Setup & Execution 

• Set tables according to floorplans, diagrams, and event specifications. 
• Assist with buffet setup, food displays, service stations, and event décor as assigned. 
• Support event preparation, setup, and breakdown activities. 
• Assist with unloading, loading, transporting, and organizing event supplies, equipment, and food products. 
• Maintain event spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout service. 

Team Collaboration & Operational Support 

• Work collaboratively with culinary, event operations, guest services, and production teams to deliver seamless event experiences. 
• Coordinate service activities with fellow team members to ensure efficient guest service. 
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. 
• Support venue operations before, during, and after events as assigned. 
• Assist with maintaining inventory, supplies, and equipment used during events.

Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Previous experience in hospitality, catering, food and beverage service, restaurants, events, or customer service is preferred. 
• Experience working in event venues, performing arts centers, hotels, or banquet environments is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role regularly requires: 

• Standing and walking for extended periods during events and performances. [Server JD | Word] 
• Setting tables, buffet stations, bars, and event service areas. 
• Carrying trays, serving food and beverages, and clearing dishes and event materials. 
• Working indoors and outdoors in a variety of event environments. 
• Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and carrying equipment, supplies, and food items. 
• Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. 
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on performance and event schedules.
