As a Concessions Attendant, you help create memorable guest experiences by providing friendly service, quality food and beverage offerings, and a welcoming atmosphere for audiences attending performances, community events, educational programs, and special gatherings. Through your commitment to hospitality and service excellence, you help support a venue that celebrates culture, community, and connection. 

Position Summary 

The Concessions Attendant supports Food & Beverage operations by preparing and serving concession items, processing guest transactions, maintaining inventory and cleanliness standards, and delivering exceptional customer service during performances, events, and community programs. 

Working closely with the Food & Beverage team, Guest Services staff, and event personnel, this role helps ensure efficient operations, high-quality service, and a positive guest experience throughout every event. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Guest Service & Hospitality 

• Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. 
• Provide exceptional customer service while serving food and beverages. 
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, pricing, and venue policies. 
• Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems. 
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and escalate issues when appropriate. 
• Help create a positive and inclusive experience for guests of all ages and backgrounds. 

Concessions Operations 

• Prepare and serve concession food, beverages, snacks, and specialty offerings according to established standards. 
• Operate concession stands, bars, kiosks, and portable service locations as assigned. 
• Maintain product quality, portion control, and presentation standards. 
• Restock inventory, supplies, and product displays throughout events. 
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors. 
• Assist with opening and closing concession locations. 

Food Safety & Compliance 

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and alcohol service policies and procedures. 
• Maintain clean and organized concession areas, equipment, and storage spaces. 
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of food products. 
• Adhere to cash-handling procedures and financial controls. 
• Comply with all workplace safety standards and emergency procedures. 

Event Support & Team Collaboration 

• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and operational readiness. 
• Support crowd flow and efficient guest service during high-volume events. 
• Collaborate with culinary, guest services, operations, and event teams to ensure seamless service delivery. 
• Assist with merchandise or specialty sales during designated events as needed. 
• Support special events, community programs, and private functions as assigned.

Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Previous experience in food service, concessions, hospitality, retail, customer service, or cash handling preferred. 
• Experience in entertainment venues, sports facilities, theaters, restaurants, or event environments is a plus. 
• Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire preferred. 
• TABC Certification or the ability to obtain certification may be required for certain assignments.

• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 
• Ability to accurately process cash and electronic transactions.

• Positive attitude, dependability, and strong work ethic. 
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements 

• Forest Theater is a dynamic live entertainment and community venue. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. 
• This role regularly requires: 
• Standing and walking for extended periods during events and performances. 
• Preparing and serving food and beverages in concession and event environments. 
• Operating point-of-sale systems, beverage equipment, and other concession-related tools. 
• Frequent lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, and stocking of products and supplies. 
• Maintaining food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards throughout assigned work areas. 
• Working in busy, high-volume environments with large crowds and varying noise levels. 
• Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. 
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on performance and event schedules.
